At BEACH WASTE SERVICES we are dedicated to you, our Customer, first and always. Your valued
patronage is rewarded by unparalleled waste removal and recycling service at a low flat rate with an additional discount to seniors (55 or over), cancer survivors and active or retired military servicepersons and other special discounts. We are a 100% female-owned and locally owned business enterprise. Our drivers and other personnel providing our services have over 30 years’ experience in the solid waste removal and recycling business right here in Bay County, home of the “World’s Most Beautiful Beaches”. We aim to do our part to keep ‘em that way.
BEACH WASTE SERVICES has been organized with three primary objectives:
- To provide the best and most reliable, customer and community-oriented service at the lowest possible price, without hidden add-on fees and surcharges, and still operate profitably to ensure our ability to provide the quality of service promised to our Valued Customers.
- To once and for all provide bona fide recycling services to the citizens of Bay County as part of our waste removal service. We take the widest range of recyclable materials than any known service provider in this area; and to do so for FREE (no additional charge). No sorting is required by our Valued Customers. We make it easier and affordable for everyone to GO GREEN, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, LIMIT LANDFILL GROWTH and conserve the planet’s natural resources for future generations – our successors and heirs of what we do or don’t do.
- To help “Kick Cancer to the Curb” with the help of our Valued Customers by promoting awareness via our affiliation with the pink cart revolution. We’re raising money for research $1 at a time to hopefully find a cure for any and all forms of cancer. Everyone is or has been affected by this dreadful disease. The organizers of BEACH WASTE SERVICES, for each of their own reasons, are committed to this cause and are putting their money where their mouths are to help put some feet on their prayers.
Let’s get going. Trash your old can and help us paint the route PINK!
The Pink Cart ladies and their contracted associates have devised a business model to provide an innovative waste removal and recycling service at a competitively priced, affordable rate by operating two trucks on the same route once per week. One for disposable waste and one for recyclable materials on the same day, rather than one truck twice per week; if you recycle using separate 18-gallon bins, once per week collection is more than adequate in most all cases. If not or if a Valued Customer elects not to recycle, a second 96-gallon cart is provided for disposable waste at a nominal charge to cover the tipping (disposal) cost of the additional weight.
Highly automated, fuel-efficient, one-person-operated trucks are used to reduce operating expenses, as well as other cost saving measures. Every pound of materials recycled represents a savings of $46.12 per ton (the current county-imposed tipping fee rate at their incinerator and landfill), and revenue from the sale of these materials to salvage buyers helps defray the cost of collection, sorting, compacting, baling and other handling expense. Admittedly, it is not a profitable endeavor, which is why most other waste companies do not provide this service. BEACH WASTE SERVICES believes it is the right thing to do and have committed to make it possible for everyone in this community to recycle. It is a collective effort for us all to do whatever we can to conserve natural resources and limit out-of-control landfill growth.
At least we are blessed to have an incinerator in Bay County to convert household waste into renewable energy, thus generating revenue from the sale of electricity to the grid. This is now a profitable undertaking for our county, but comes at the expense of higher tipping fees, which could be construed as a garbage tax we all have to pay one way or another. However we can be proud, at least, that it is not going into a landfill, to the potential detriment of our natural water supplies and the inherent dangers of methane gas generated in the future.

BEACH WASTE SERVICES provides residential and commercial waste removal AND FREE recycling services on the Panama City Beach island, from bridge-to-bridge-to bridge and the SR 79 corridor and West Bay area at present. We will however, increase our service area to all of Bay County in the near future – or at least to all residents and commercial businesses not served by their respective municipalities.
We provide a comprehensive range of waste removal and recycling services involving a variety of trucks and equipment to serve all Valued Customers and their respective neighborhood and area business needs. We soon will be providing roll-off and compactor dumpster services, with maintenance provided in-house by qualified maintenance personnel.
As Lee Sullivan, our Director of Business Development, who always has a “View”, puts it; “It’s really a no-brainer. You can go with Beach Waste Services and do business with some good local folks who are trying to do some good things for our community and society, save a few bucks, give one or two of ‘em to some good causes and stick the rest in your pocket”. Lee worked as a “slinger” and “driver” for a garbage company on the Beach from age 13 until attending college and serving as a highly decorated Marine in Vietnam, and again afterwards as a principal of the company until he joined the Panama City Beach Police Department, became Chief of Police for some 20 years and two-term Mayor afterwards. He is a great American and Patriot and a colon cancer survivor.

BEACH WASTE SERVICES by Willie is the company with the Pink Trucks to signify our affiliation with
the “Pink Cart” campaign to promote awareness, early intervention and prevention of breast cancer, and to help raise money for research to find a cure for all forms of cancer (see pinkcart.com for more details). This campaign enables people to purchase their own solid Pink Cart with the familiar ribbon logo to show their support for the cause. For every cart sold, the manufacturer donates $5 to the American Cancer Society for research. Over $350,000 has been donated so far. That’s over 70,000 Pink Carts now prominently displayed on curbs all across the U.S. and Canada, and more are being put out everyday.
As the exclusive distributor of the Pink Carts for Northwest Florida, we have taken this idea a couple of steps farther. For each cart we sell, we donate an additional $5 to the Cancer Society. We also give our Valued Customers the option of donating $1 per month to Cancer Research when paying their monthly bills. We match that with an additional $1 donation. These funds are divided equally between the Cancer Society and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
We also give our Valued Customers the alternative or additional option of donating $1 per month to our Local Charity fund, which we also match $1 for $1. These funds are divided: 50% to Beach Care Services (provides temporary or interim financial assistance to out-of-work seasonal workers, the infirmed or otherwise genuinely, economically disadvantaged locals), and 25% each to Warrior Beach Retreat (provides recreational relief, recognition and tribute to wounded warriors and their families), and PCB Paws and Claws (they provide catch, spay/neuter and release programs for feral cats and other animals). Each of these charities are 100% staffed and operated by selfless volunteer heroes.
All donations are segregated and held in non-interest-bearing escrow accounts and are disbursed quarterly. All administration and disbursement of these funds are independently audited annually, and donors are provided with evidence of their donations for income tax deduction purposes at the end of each year.
As of this posting (5-12-13), an amazing 72% of our Valued Customers are donating to one or the other of these causes or to both. We believe that could only happen in Bay County. We are blessed to live in an amazing community among so many amazing people. God bless them everyone!
